One of the bennies of living in the Northeast – snow racing. Ernie’s bike shop is hosting the Winter Bike Championship Series at Shawnee Peak, Lost Valley, Snow Bowl, and Bretton Woods. This year, no studs. Staying up is the number one goal. At the Shawnee Peak race, I stayed up and placed 3rd in both the 4x and speed events. Check out the race report on NBC Portland’s website.

After Kyle’s return to dual slalom racing at Crankworx, his next stop is the Jeep 48STRAIGHT series at Diablo Mountain Bike Park in Vernon, NJ August 23rd-24th. Read more about this event at http://www.jeepmtnbiking.com/.

I just got off the phone with E-bot (wife Donna speaking here). He just competed in dual slalom at Crankworx Colorado. “What?!” “But you didn’t bring a bike with you?” Kyle went to Crankworx CO to announce the events, not compete. It felt wrong, so wrong to drop Kyle off at the airport without a bike. Kyle borrowed Jamie Goldman’s bike, eliminated someone in the 1st round, but then got eliminated by the top qualifier in the 2nd round. In between runs, he went back to the mic to announce with Brad.
